The GT Supa Van – high capacity with a great display area
Here we tell you who the GT Supa Van is designed for, how the innovative design of this catering van will help your business make more money, what features we’ve built into this catering van and finally the technical specification.
Who is the GT Supa Van the ideal solution for?
If you want to trade with a high capacity from a catering van built on a low vehicle chassis, so your customers can see all your delicious food on offer, this vehicle has some clever design to achieve exactly that.
You’ll earn more revenue compared with most similar products, with this type of vehicle you can visit multiple locations in one evening and capture a bigger audience for your offering. Maybe think in terms of a high quality fish and chip style offering around the area where you live?

What type of business is the GT Supa Van ideal for? If you:
- Want to do a food delivery style offering – e.g. fish and chip shop going from village to village
- Have a street trader’s licence which states you must move on and off site every day – e.g. kebab catering van in a city centre or other forms of street trading
- Want the convenience and security of having your business all in one vehicle (i.e. not a van and trailer setup)
- Offer a ‘craft’ service to your film and TV production crew
- Intend to do roadshows or food demonstration such as giving away food outside a supermarket
- Want to serve your food direct from the vehicle to your customer for any reason
- Want the great food you sell to be highly visible
- Don’t want the hassle of towing a trailer including reversing them into location
Remember, this catering van has many features specifically designed for high output businesses.

How will the GT Supa Van help your catering business be successful?
With twenty years of experience building high volume catering units we’ve talked to countless owners and operators. We’ve learned what works best and what you should avoid. We’ve refined our designs over time to give you exactly what you want. We’ll use our design experience and your knowledge of your business added to your ideas to design a catering van that delivers high quality food and a great return on your investment.
There are four key aims behind our design:
- Maximise your potential for output
- Make your unit efficient and easy to use to keep your time and costs to a minimum
- Make sure the unit has a great appearance so you can attract more of the right type of customers
- Keep your catering van safe and legal

Here’s the savvy design and build features that will maximise your income:
- You can have up to four till points comfortably, with another space for an extra person to serve food
- The van has enough space for up to eight people to work efficiently together
- The kitchen is designed to be efficient for production and simple for you and your team to operate
- The unit displays your food so customers can see it being prepared and ready to go (if that’s what you want)
- Everything you need can be carried on the Supa Van – the full kitchen, stock, utensils, everything you need for a full day’s trade
- Your kitchen is designed and built to be highly reliable, using the right materials and trained craftsmen to maximise the life of every piece of equipment, the walls and the floor, everything
- It’s easy to clean and keep pristine, tidy and healthy, while you prepare food and serve customers and when you’re finished at the end of the day

Designed for maximum output and fast service
With a full-length serving hatch you can configure your service and till points in multiple ways. We’ll design and build your unit after working with you to understand how to get the best results for your product. It will vary dependent on the type of food you prepare.
We’ve found for the right food you can have four till points and there is still room for an additional person to just wrap and hand over food. It’s not quite McDonalds but it’s as close as we can get.
We’ll agree the layout of the kitchen with you to get the right balance between speed of output, quality, comfort for your team and of course hygiene.

The kitchen will be super reliable
You want your kitchen to be up and running all the time. Problems with equipment etc. mean less income. As you realise, mobile catering can be tough on the team when you’re busy and it can be tough on the unit.
- We’ve tested different materials, so we know what will give you best reliability and often just as importantly, high quality appearance over a long period of time
- We know which equipment manufacturers will give you the best value and the best reliability and it’s important to know which work best in a mobile unit. Plus you’ll realise that access in a confined space is important as is how the kitchen equipment performs when you cook. We’ll give you all the benefits of our experience
- Just as importantly we also know which kitchen appliances might look great and have a good brand name but aren’t the best value
- When it comes to servicing your kitchen equipment, you’ll discover they’ve been installed so they are simple and easy to remove
- The quality of our craftsmen and our quality control systems will mean damage through wear and tear will be at an absolute minimum
- There are very few removable parts which all helps to keep everything in its place, so you can be confident you’re ready to go if you get an opportunity at short notice

Easy to clean, saves you time and helps standards
After a full day or long evening or night serving customers you, or your team, want to be able to clean the kitchen, the floor and the walls quickly and with the least effort. At the same time, we know with food preparation you’ll have high standards.
To make that as simple as possible for you, here’s how your unit is designed and built to make that work:
- Fridges, freezers, and cookers are installed on raised plinths. When you cook, if food gets spilt on the floor there is nowhere awkward for it to go. All the oils and food will be there on the floor where it can be easily swept up and cleaned
- You’ll have smooth, wipeable surfaces everywhere, because when we build your catering van, everything, like the wiring, is positioned away from where it can attract dirt that can be hard to get to
- All the materials we use are proven to be easy to clean
- Hot products and appliances are all in one place, that means so are all the grease and fats. That makes cleaning as you go simpler. We obviously separate hot appliances from refrigeration

Ventilation, extraction, gas and electrics
You must get these right, for performance, safety and certification.
- We design the right degree of ventilation and extraction to get rid of all the gases and grease, safely and efficiently. When we know what output capacity you need, we can advise what ventilation will work best
- That also applies to gas and electrical supplies, we’ll design these to match your requirement
- With the NICEIC electrical certification and access to the Gas Safe mobile catering safety certification we’ll make sure your gas storage is 100% adequate and your electrical installation is safe

Branding of your catering van – looks and appearances are everything
This will all be included at the design stage. Get this right and you attract more customers. The appearance of the unit and the way your food can be displayed can have a huge positive impact on your average value sale. The more clearly they can see more of what you sell, the more they’re likely to buy.
The quality of the build means the unit will look pristine and clean, both inside and outside, when you look after it. It’s been designed with branding opportunities in mind, so you’ll have space for signs, logos and menus. We can arrange for signwriting and design so when you take delivery, you’re ready to go.

There are even more benefits of the GT Supa Van
- There are just one set of costs for one vehicle, so insurance, tax, MOT, annual maintenance etc.
- The whole catering unit is designed to be resilient, so if you need to drive down bumpy roads or paths you won’t have to worry about the kitchen equipment staying where it’s meant to be or falling apart
- It’s not difficult to drive or manoeuvre and at least some of your team will be safe to drive it (subject to licence requirements over 3.5 tons)
“Being able to come up and check out the project whenever I wanted was also very helpful.”
Michael Sladden, Operations Director, MOB Kitchen, London

Who might the Supa Van not be suitable for?
You’ll be aware that if the vehicle breaks down, you may lose business until it’s repaired and back on the road. Obviously, modern vehicles rarely break down, but to reduce the risk you may want to consider one of our trailers instead.
If you are likely to trade from a single location and you have the facility to be able to park your unit long term, one of our trailer options or our shipping container options may work better for you.
If you don’t need high volume output, you may want to look at our convert your own vehicle page.
What vehicle do you need for conversion and how do you find one?
The GT Supa Van is a professional specification, high output vehicle conversion which is built typically on vehicles up to 5 tons. It can be built to a maximum of 3.5 tons if you or your team just have a standard car driving licence.
We can source and provide a new vehicle suitable for conversion at competitive rates. Typically, Peugeot, Fiat and Iveco have models that are suitable, and we have experience across all those manufacturers. Alternatively, we can advise which second-hand vehicles will be suitable for conversion, but you should obviously consider reliability.

A typical technical specification is:
- Mounted on a 3.5 ton to 5.5 ton heavy duty steel chassis
- 35mm high gloss white GRP composite lightweight ultra-strong body panels and roof (by far one of the strongest vehicle bodies made) – you and your team can stand on the roof should you feel the need to.
- Exclusive ‘clip on’ anodised aluminium corner mouldings – When you put your unit to work, you or one of your team are bound to ‘knock’ the vehicle maybe on a fence or a post, our corner moulding system allows these to be changed so you have the option of keeping your vehicle tidy. Some of our competitors rely on the corner section to give their vehicle strength, 4Sure build their bodies properly meaning you will not see these unsightly screws and bolts on the corner cappings
- Full width serving hatch allowing your customers to see what’s happening and for you to attract multiple queues to earn you more money
- Fold up hatch signboard to give you additional branding space for a message to your clients
- Recessed customer shelving to give more customer space under cover when it rains
- Personnel access door (one piece)
- Our Gas bottle housing is fire rated in accordance with CoP 24:part3 then installed to suit the amount of bottles you require (minimum 2x 19Kg gas bottles), our GT range has a lockable door for additional protection.
- All main doors and hatches come with 5-lever locks for added security and your peace of mind.
- Wipe clean heavy duty stainless steel worktops making sure you maintain a clean food safe working environment (upgradeable rolled edge worktops available).
- 18mm Phenolic chemical resistant floor with non-slip food safe flooring (colour of your choice) – be wary of what thickness other manufacturers floor is, we’ve even seen bare plywood being used with no protection from the road dirt and water.
- One double door cupboard under sink area to store all your clean chemicals and equipment away from the food items.
- Regulated hot + cold water system to ensure you have safe water temperature for your staff to operate without burning their hands whilst ensuring the water is hot enough to kill any potential bacteria in the system
- 230 volt pressure sensitive water pump for automatic operation when tap is opened
- Back saving water filling system fitted to your 20-Litre deluxe L.P.G boiler, saving you lugging and lifting heavy jerry cans full of water to fill the boiler 20Ltr Burco Dean deluxe boiler
- 25 litre freshwater container
- 23 litre wastewater container
- 230volt electrical mains pack complete with 2x 4′ water resistant lights, 2 x 13Amp twin socket outlets, full protective devices and 10Mtr extension cable (upgradeable to any configuration required – i.e. 400 volt three phase)

- Full ‘Gas Safe’ ‘Mobile Catering Vehicle Safety Inspection’ (valid for 12months)
