A simply stunning British Manufacturer and a true classic
Asquith vehicles are stunning, they were built and manufactured right here in England. Square lines and bold front lights, the van itself draws the eye of the public. These vehicles can be designed for you to stand inside them or serve your customer by walking around them.
It is well suited for street food trading, these vans are intricate, and we love to give them the TLC they deserve and get them back to their former glory.
So, which Asquith suits you best?
These vans are available in different models
- The Asquith Shire – This is an ideal vehicle for you to trade from the inside of the van. The large hatch opening and additional room inside the vehicle, allows you to take more stock with you – helping you achieve higher revenues
- The Asquith Shetland – This smaller version is well suited for a simple offering. Here you would stand outside of the vehicle and serve your customer face to face, allowing them to watch you making their drinks. A trick that will benefit you is our weather protection roof that keeps you dry and matches the vintage style of the van
There is a third contender when searching for vintage vehicles. Whilst this one is not an Asquith, the Newark Fleur De Lys might be another option when searching for good quality donor vehicles. We’ve included it here because of so many similarities when compared to the Asquith range.
- Newark Fleur De Lys – Very similar to the Asquith Shire suitable to trade from internally with the ability to offer a multitude of products
These vans where traditionally built on a ford chassis and were still being produced into the 1980’s but the look and feel was kept the same like they were straight out of the 1900s! Originally produced in Essex, they were primarily used as delivery and advertising vans by various companies.

What is the Vintage Asquith an ideal solution for?
- Ideal for all styles of trading, whichever model you choose it can be adapted to suit what you sell
- It is simply stunning, a truly traditional vehicle that will absolutely stand out from the crowd.
- They can be sourced as drivable vehicles – imagine driving on site in one of them that nostalgia cannot be replicated
- Fill your diary quickly – Lots of event organisers look for outlets which complement their event
- As with many vintage vans the footprint is smaller than the more modern van, that’s where our clever design skills help you sell more
- Potential higher re-sale value – higher demand could mean your vehicle may hold its re-sale price for longer
This style of van has lots of external visual appeal – a well thought out internal design can make the money you desire in the time you have to trade.
Who might the Vintage Asquith Van not be suitable for?
These vans are a little more difficult to find compared with other vintage style vehicles used for conversion. A drivable one may come at a premium, but they are out there, and definitely worth the search.
In the event the vehicle breaks down, you may lose business until it’s repaired and back on the road. Given the age of the van reliability becomes a factor, to reduce the risk you may want to consider something newer like the GT Supa Van or a Vehicle Conversion on a more reliable van.
If you are likely to trade from a single location and you have the facility to be able to park your unit long term, one of our trailer options or our shipping container options may work better for you.
