The Client:
BG Catering needed a bespoke catering trailer that could do more than simply provide a practical space to cook and serve. They wanted a unit with real presence – something that would stand out at busy events while providing their team with a spacious, hard-wearing and efficient working environment.
With a distinctive container-inspired concept in mind, we set about creating a trailer that combined commercial functionality with an exterior that would be difficult to miss.
The Brief:
The goal was to create a catering trailer that looked like a converted shipping container, while retaining all the benefits of a purpose-built mobile catering unit.
BG Catering wanted a trailer that could:
- Provide a spacious and practical environment for busy service
- Maximise working and serving space with a push-out counter
- Deliver the distinctive industrial appearance of a shipping container
- Incorporate durable, easy-to-maintain finishes throughout
- Create a strong brand presence during both daytime and evening events
The visual design was particularly important, with bespoke signage and lighting required to make the unit instantly recognisable wherever it trades.

Structure & Exterior
- Sheet aluminium cladding used to create the distinctive appearance of a shipping container
- Professionally painted exterior for a smart, durable finish
- Bespoke container-inspired detailing carried across the complete trailer
- Spacious internal layout designed around the needs of a busy catering operation
- Push-out serving counter to increase usable space and create an impressive customer-facing service area
Interior & Workspaces
- Durable Durasein solid-surface worktops, providing a contemporary alternative to traditional stainless steel
- Hard-wearing surfaces selected to withstand the demands of regular commercial use
- Generous preparation and service areas to give the team plenty of room to work efficiently
- Layout designed to create a practical flow between preparation, cooking and customer service
Lighting & Branding
- Bespoke ceiling lighting to give the interior a distinctive, premium finish
- Custom illuminated signage integrated into the exterior design
- Neon-style signage highlighting the food offering, including burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries
- Large illuminated bicycle graphic forming a focal point above the serving area
- Exterior accent lighting tracing the shape of the trailer, helping the unit stand out after dark
The Result:
The finished BG Catering trailer combines the rugged character of a shipping container with the functionality of a purpose-built commercial catering unit.
Its spacious layout, push-out counter and hard-wearing finishes give the team a practical environment built for busy service, while the bespoke lighting and signage completely transform its presence at an event.
By day, the container-inspired design creates a distinctive backdrop for the BG Catering brand. By night, the illuminated signage and exterior lighting make sure it stands out in even the busiest trading environment.
