Client:

A thriving holiday park business in Fort William, looking to upgrade its on-site food offering with a full-service kitchen and catering unit.

Challenge:

The client needed a complete catering setup that could operate independently in a remote location and serve as the hub of their food operations. Their goal was to offer a menu that went far beyond what you’d expect from a typical campsite or kiosk — with the quality and scope of a bricks-and-mortar restaurant, but without the building.

It needed to be practical, high capacity, and self-sufficient. It also had to be delivered ready to trade, with minimal setup once it arrived on site.

Solution:

We designed and built a bespoke 40ft container conversion, created entirely in-house by the 4Sure team. The scale of the unit makes it one of our largest container conversions to date, with a layout designed to support a high-volume food operation — all within a single container structure.

The container was split into two functional zones:

Back-of-house: A dedicated area for food preparation and pot wash, fitted with a full-height fridge/freezer, convection ovens, fryers, griddles, deep sinks, dishwasher, and a high-capacity hot water system.
Front-of-house: A welcoming, customer-facing service area with a fully automated 20ft x 7ft hatch opening the entire side of the container. A built-in glass-fronted display under the counter provides space for cold drinks, hot snacks or other grab-and-go items — perfect for encouraging impulse purchases and supporting higher turnover.

The container was finished with a full 3-phase electrical system, commercial-grade plumbing, and hardwearing internal finishes. It was fabricated at our workshop, delivered to site, craned into place, and ready to trade once connected to power, water, waste and internet.

The client came to us with a clear vision of what they wanted — and we made it happen.

Results:

This custom-built container unit now operates as the core of the catering offer at the holiday park, delivering breakfast, lunch and hot drinks to guests and staff. The setup is entirely self-contained and designed to keep service running smoothly throughout the day.

The final result is a purpose-built, high-performance catering solution that reflects the quality of their service and helps drive more revenue through faster service and well-placed sales opportunities.
