The Brief:
Our client operates from a busy roadside pitch on an industrial estate and had outgrown their previous catering trailer. They needed a compact unit that could handle long trading hours, serve a varied menu, and stand up to the demands of daily use.
The goal was to design a trailer that supported high customer throughput while making daily service and cleaning as smooth as possible.
Our Build:
We designed a 14ft catering trailer around the exact requirements of the client’s operation. The internal layout was planned for efficient service and intuitive flow, ensuring the trailer worked as hard as the team inside it.
Key features included:
- Forward-facing high-capacity chrome griddle with bain marie – creating an open cook line that encouraged interaction between the trader and customers
- Salad display and front counter – ideal for upsells and efficient service
- Rear fryer and kebab machine – with a second bain marie dedicated to keeping meats warm and ready
- Integrated tea and coffee station – providing a quick hot drink service for local workers
- Shelving space for bread and sundries – keeping key items easily accessible
To support year-round trade, we added wing boards that open in warmer months and lock into place to act as windbreaks in winter – a practical solution for unpredictable weather.
Built for Cleanliness and Compliance:
A hardworking trailer needs to be just as easy to clean as it is to use. This unit featured:
- Stainless steel cladding throughout for a hygienic and polished look
- Flush cupboard bases that reduce dirt traps and make floor cleaning straightforward
- Wall-mounted first aid box and CCTV system – for added peace of mind during long shifts
Results:
The finished trailer supports a full day’s service, seven days a week, with a layout tailored to the trader’s flow and customer base. From breakfast to kebabs, coffee to cold drinks, the unit delivers consistent performance and a professional finish – without wasting space or slowing service.
